It’s back to midweek football for Morton tomorrow night as they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Championship at Cappielow.

The match was originally scheduled to be played on Boxing Day but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch therefore tomorrow evening will be the first encounter between both sides this season.

For Anton McElhone, a win against the Highlanders would be the perfect response to Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Queen of the South and the interim ‘Ton boss will be hoping his side can right the wrong’s of the weekend to secure all three points.

John Robertson’s Inverness sit 4 points behind Morton in the league and head in to tomorrow night on the back of a number of postponements with their last fixture being played on 29 December, a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park.

A last minute winner from Nikolay Todorov denied the Ton of a vital point back in March as the Greenock side lost 3-2 in the Highlands.

The Sinclair Street side came from behind twice with goals from Aidan Nesbitt and Reece Lyon in the second half however it was the Bulgarian forward Todorov who provided the sucker punch and ensure all three points for his team right at the very end of the game.
