“I am delighted to be joining Morton” – Lamar Reynolds

Following on from his signing news last week, we caught up briefly with new signing Lamar Reynolds as he discusses joining Morton and his optimism for the season ahead:

“I am delighted to be joining Morton, my agent first brought the opportunity to me to come up to Scotland and represent the club and when we were finally able to get the deal done, I was more than delighted.”

“I have some friends who have played in the Scottish Championship before so I know a bit about the club, I’ve seen a few games and when the opportunity first came up I made sure to do my research as well to learn more. I know a bit about the gaffer as well so that got me even more interested in the move.”

“I think some of the initial interest came from my performances in the FA Cup, especially with my goal and assist against Ipswich Town who of course are now playing in the Premier League. I’d like to think that may have turned a few heads and there was a bit of interest following that game.”

“I feel this move is the best one for myself and with the ambition of the club, it was a new challenge that I needed and I’m happy to have taken it.”

“I’m working on my game a lot, trying to find that consistency with my main strength which is going forward. I felt last season I was playing a bit more defensively and went back a lot more than I went forward so it did limit me a bit, but fans can expect a lot of pace and hopefully a few great finishes.”

“The gaffer has told me his plans and I’m happy with what I’ve heard, I’m excited for what is to come and I’m more than sure this season is going to be a good one for the team and me personally. Hopefully we can move in the right direction and have a positive season.”

The club are delighted to have Lamar on board and we look forward to seeing him out on the Cappielow pitch representing the club in this historic 150th season!
