2025/26 End of Season Supporters Message

To Our Supporters,

Firstly, we want to thank every Greenock Morton supporter for your incredible backing throughout this season.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the hard-working volunteers who have contributed over the course of the season. This work often goes unnoticed but behind the scenes, these efforts make such a huge impact. To name a few examples, we have our fantastic team running TonTV, our SLOs who travel up and down the country, our matchday photographers who provide brilliant images every week, the hard-working team who paint around the stadium, those who clean up after games, and those who help at the turnstiles. There are loads of further examples, but we appreciate every bit of support.

We must also recognise the hard work of our back-office team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure things run smoothly in often challenging circumstances.

Securing our place in the Championship on the final day brings relief, but we are under no illusions: it was an extremely difficult season from start to finish. We fully recognise the frustration and disappointment many supporters will feel after a season that has too often fallen short of expectations.

You invest your time, money, passion, and unwavering loyalty into this football club, and while we are pleased to have retained our Championship status, we know this campaign has not delivered the level of performance or progress you rightly expect from the club.

There can be no complacency. This season must serve as a wake-up call.

Our focus is already firmly on the future. We will use this moment as a point to take a breath, regroup and continue building a structure capable of delivering sustained success in a sustainable way. Every decision taken will be with the purpose of moving Greenock Morton forward, giving supporters a club to be proud of, and ensuring we are competing at the highest level possible.

The players and management recognise disappointment this season and join us in thanking supporters for their backing and patience throughout a difficult season.

We know words alone will not be enough. It is now on everyone at the club to respond through our actions, our standards, and our commitment to delivering the progress this club demands.

We remain committed to working closely with Morton Club Together (MCT) as we continue building for the future. Discussions regarding potential strategic investment and the long-term development of the club remain ongoing, with both Boards engaging daily, as we look to strengthen every aspect of Greenock Morton moving forward. There will also be changes at Board level in the coming weeks and months. Sam Robinson has now stepped down, and we thank him for his efforts. We will be looking to add fresh faces to the Board, but will take time with this, bearing in mind the progress of the potential Estrella investment.

Retaining our Championship status provides stability, but it is only the starting point.
Now, the work begins to ensure next season reflects the ambition and standards of this football club.
Friday night showed just what Cappielow can be like; our aim is to have the home end filled like that regularly. For context, the crowd on Friday night generated an extra £30,000 compared to our last home game, also helped by the sizeable away support. That sort of figure is huge to the club when operating with the budgets we do.

We know we need to give supporters a club and product on the park that encourages supporters to come along in their numbers, like Friday night, and we are determined to do that.

We have had a great early response to season tickets so far, with more than 250 of you already signed up. If you haven’t already, the early bird discount runs until the end of May. We would love to see that number rise to 1000 for the season starting.

We thank each and every one of you for your incredible backing. The hard work starts now to move Morton forward together.
