Read All About It: The Best Morton Team Ever?

It is perhaps fitting that in the week after the class of 2017 were inducted into the Greenock Morton Hall of Fame, our official matchday magazine poses the question: Who would make the best ever Morton XI?

Tom Robertson served our club as a supporter, treasurer, secretary and director for over 70 years and authored the definitive and unfortunately out-of-print Morton 1874-1974 centenary book.

Mr Robertson, who sadly passed away in February 2016, wrote an article in 2006 in which he makes a personal judgement of whom he considered to be the best Morton players ever.

And in a feature to be serialised over the course of a number of upcoming programmes, Tom’s team will be outlined, with additional statistics and background information added by editor Niall McGilp.

Our new-look glossy 48-page programme, designed and printed by top publishers Curtis Sport and priced at £3, is proving extremely popular with supporters.

As well as this latest feature, Liam Bryce interviews Scott Tiffoney after he scored his first senior goal against Brechin City last Saturday while Gareth Ewing takes a trip down memory lane with ex-skipper Stewart Greacen.
