Next Up | Raith Rovers (H)

Our home match with Raith Rovers on Saturday 5th October will celebrate 150 years of Greenock Morton and we want you to join us.

As the club officially celebrates 150 years of the club and its role in the local community, we will have some special tributes to the history of the club taking place on the day.

Prior to kick off, the 150th anniversary flag will be raised on the pitch to mark the occasion. The flag which will adorn the 150th commemorative badge will be a token of the journey the club has taken over its existence and a chance to mark a unique occasion in the clubs history.

The presentation party for the flag raising will be welcomed on to the pitch by the Kilbarchan Pipe Band and who will also play following the raising of the flag.

A series of former players from across the club’s history will also be welcomed on to the pitch at half time as acknowledgement of some of the key characters in our journey is marked. Players from across different eras, blended with hall of famers will partake in a lap of honour to mark the contributions they have made to the club during their time at Cappielow.

The club has also given away 1,000 tickets to local schools, charities and good causes to mark the huge impact the club has had in the Inverclyde community over the years. From local charities and community groups in Inverclyde, to our community programmes and local schools- over 1,000 people will be invited to join us to mark this historic occasion of the clubs history.

We are also encouraging all supporters to ‘Wear old School’ at the match. We would love to see as many historical strips as possible in the terraces where supporters are encouraged to wear the Morton top that means the most to them or one from a memorable period in the club’s history.

We look forward to celebrating the match in true Greenock Morton FC fashion and encourage as many people as possible to join us and help us mark the day not only with these special tributes but to also push us towards 3 points on the pitch.
