Morton memorial match shirts up for auction

Supporters have been given the opportunity to get their hands on a unique one-off Morton shirt worn in the recent Asten Jones Memorial Match in an online auction, with all proceeds going to the appeal.

The bright pink jersey, sponsored by Straps of Gourock and manufactured by Nike, features both an embroidered club crest and match details on the chest with ‘Jones 18’ on the back in gold.

One of the yellow goalkeeper shirts (see image below) from the charity game, in which a Morton XI beat Dunoon Amateurs 8-1 at the Dunoon Stadium, is also up for grabs.

You can make a bid for either piece of extremely rare memorabilia by visiting Cappielow kitman Andy Bryan’s Facebook page. The auction is open for bids now and closes at 7pm on Tuesday 1 August.

Andy said: “Following the success of the match on Sunday we have one of the special Morton tops worn on the day up for auction, along with one of the goalkeeper tops.

“It will run for a week and close at 7pm next Tuesday. You can post your bids on my Facebook page or by sending me a direct message.

“Money raised from the auction will be added to the funds raised at the match on Sunday. Thanks again to everyone for their support and good luck!”
