Logan O’Boy signs first professional deal

Greenock Morton are today delighted to announce that Logan O’Boy has signed his first professional deal until Summer 2025.

Logan, a product of the Greenock Morton Youth Academy, signed his first apprenticeship deal in August 2023 which was followed by several standout performances for the club’s Under 18s side.

Just three months after signing his first deal with the club, the 17-year-old midfielder earned a call-up to first-team training in November 2023, going on to make his professional debut later that month against Bo’ness United in the Scottish Cup. Logan impressed in his short cameo winning a penalty and topping off his first appearance with a goal.

Keeping his place amongst the first-team setup, Logan bided his time and earned his Championship league debut with a substitute appearance in a 3-0 win against Ayr United.

Logan becomes the first youth player from our crop of Academy apprentices to sign a professional deal and we are delighted to secure the promising young player for a further 18 months.

On today’s announcement, Manager Dougie Imrie added, “Logan is a bright young prospect who has put in the hard work to keep himself amongst the first-team squad.

It’s great to see a young player sign his first professional contract and it’s a testament to the work and effort he has put in since making the step up.

This is just the beginning; the hard work starts now and how far he can go is up to him. The next stage of development will be to find a loan move and allow Logan to gain valuable regular first-team playing experience.”
