Jon Scullion signs until the end of the season

We are pleased to announce that forward Jon Scullion has today extended his contract with the club, keeping him at Cappielow until the end of the current campaign.

The 21-year-old frontman, who originally joined us in July 2014, signed a deal until 31 December in the summer, but manager Jim Duffy recently offered him a contract until 10 June.

Scullion was thrilled to accept the offer and put pen to paper after training at Parklea this afternoon, and he told gmfc.net his aim is to try and transfer the form that has seen him hit 11 goals in five Under-20s starts to the first-team stage.

He said: “I’ve signed until the end of the season, until 10 June, and I’m delighted to get it sorted. I like it here so I was happy when the gaffer pulled me in.

“I found out a couple of days ago, on Tuesday. He spoke to me and said he wanted me to stay. I was thrilled with that and came in to training the next day and said I definitely want to sign again.

“You’re always nervy when your contract is coming up for renewal, anxious more than anything to get a new deal. My hope was to get another deal and stay here. I really like it and the gaffer has been brilliant with me.

“What I need to do now is try and take my form from the Under-20s into the first-team and try and push on and put myself in the gaffer’s thoughts.”
