Manager Jonatan Johansson identified Kerr Waddell’s sending off as the key moment in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Inverness Caledonian Thistle – but felt the remaining 10 men were unfortunate not to salvage a share of the spoils.
Dundee loan defender Waddell was sent off in the 34th minute of the Ladbrokes Championship fixture for a pull on striker George Oakley with Ton already trailing to the Highlanders.
Although Caley Thistle midfielder Sean Welsh missed the resultant penalty, captain Aaron Doran added a second four minutes after the interval to ensure substitute Scott Tiffoney’s strike was of no consequence.
The Ton boss was very pleased with his player’s efforts as they came close to claiming a draw but was ultimately disappointed to suffer a home defeat, admitting it is a fact they need to start picking up more points.
