JJ: Nothing better than local lad done good
Beaming Morton boss Jonatan Johansson watched Reece Lyon score a spectacular late winner on his first senior start and said there is nothing better for the fans and a club than a local lad done good.
The Cappielow gaffer named 18-year-old youth academy graduate Lyon in his line-up for last night’s league fixture against Queen of the South at Palmerston and was rewarded when he netted the decisive goal six minutes from time.
Greenock-born midfielder Lyon’s strike earned what Johansson described as a huge three points on the back of a 5-0 defeat against Ross County on Saturday.
The Ton boss talks the importance of bouncing back after that Highland hammering, ringing the changes in response to the loss, Bob McHugh’s headed opener and it’s similarity to his recent goal against Falkirk.
