Club Statement: Ian Murray

The Board of Greenock Morton Football Club can confirm that Ian Murray has been relieved of his duties as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

First Team Coach Bill Orr has also been relieved of his duties.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both Ian and Bill for their hard work, commitment and professionalism during their time at the club. Everyone at Morton wishes them both the very best for the future.

Taking charge of first-team affairs until further notice will be Michael O’Halloran and Gary Miller.

The club recognises the disappointment felt by supporters and understands the importance of the weeks ahead. Now more than ever, the players, Michael and Gary need the backing of the Morton support as we work together to move the club forward.

We therefore urge all supporters to get behind the team and join us at Cappielow this Saturday for our match against Raith Rovers. Your support can make a real difference, and we look forward to seeing a strong home crowd cheering the team on.

Further updates will be provided in due course.
