Important Sinclair Street & car park information
A meeting was held in recent days between Inverclyde Council and police regarding the ongoing issue with Sinclair Street, which has been part of numerous discussions held between a number of interested parties, including the club, to come up with a safe and cost-effective way of closing Sinclair Street on matchdays.
It would appear that this situation has now been resolved and Sinclair Street will be closed as previously. In addition the car park will re-open with the fee of £3.
However, cars exiting can only turn left into Sinclair Street, under the railway bridge and either turn first right into Carwood Street if heading west for Greenock town centre or second left into Weir Street if heading east for Port Glasgow.
The police are now unable to direct traffic out of the car park on to East Hamilton Street due to legal challenges at a national level which means that the traffic lights at East Hamilton Street/Sinclair Street cannot be switched off.
The club would like to thank Inverclyde Council for their full support and co-operation in seeking a resolution to this issue and we can now look forward to returning to a safe environment when arriving and leaving the stadium at Sinclair Street.
