Grant Gillespie signs contract extension

Greenock Morton are delighted to announce that Grant Gillespie has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal.

Club Captain Grant will go into his third season at Cappielow having made over 75 appearances since joining from Queen’s Park in the summer of 2022.

The midfielder has been entrusted with the captain’s armband since first joining and hit the ground running in his first season, scoring three goals in his first four competitive appearances for the club. Since then, Grant has scored a further 12 goals and contributed greatly to the team.

Subject to SFA clearance.

Manager Dougie Imrie added, “To have Grant sign on for another season is a real boost to the squad. He is another player with experience that will continue to benefit the rest of the boys. Grant becomes the third player to extend today alongside Kirk and Cameron and this helps to keep a great core group in the squad.”
