Focus Group Feedback – December 2024
We would like to thank the supporters who attended our first round of Focus Groups at Cappielow across three nights this week.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, small groups of supporters were invited into the club to share feedback, ideas and to discuss a variety of topics with the aim of improving communication between the club and its loyal fans.
This will now be an ongoing project that we will aim to carry out each quarter and will be inviting more supporters to be part of the process as we move on.
Also involved in the meetings from the club were members of the new Supporter Liaison Team as well as the clubs General Manager.
Some of the areas discussed over the three nights were:
• Highlighting the people involved operationally at the club to build stronger relationships and knowledge between staff and supporters of who is who and what functions they carry out.
• How we are aiming to develop and grow key revenue streams such as the lottery, hospitality, and retail.
• Looking at how we can further drive people into the stadium via incentives and engagement programmes.
• Feedback on the away kit options for 2025/26 – it was brought up that traditionally away kits involved one of the three predominant GMFC Colours (blue, white, yellow). Moving forward it was explained that each year the away kit will now become the third kit for the following campaign so with this years away kit being yellow and becoming next year’s third kit, we had to look at alternative colours. This was based on a number of key factors such as stock value, financial and efficiency.
• The pie stalls – it was explained that the club had been forced to make a decision on financial grounds but equally would not publicly make further comment and we were working with new staff- accepted there were teething issues that had happened at the Livingston match and that we were working hard to rectify those issues.
• More visibility of the SLO’s- it was agreed that we would utilise media channels more to highlight the SLO’s on matchday. We are also in the process of getting an item of clothing for the SLO’s that make them identifiable at home and away matches.
• Transference around the stadium and stands on matchday.
• Stewarding and the improvements that have been made and that can be made.
Again, we thank those who participated across the three nights and brought some really valuable and credible insights, questions and ideas to the table and we look forward positively to further engagement.
