Doyle wishes first Ton goal was worth more

Defender Michael Doyle says it was a great feeling to score his first Morton goal against rivals St Mirren but insists he would have gladly given that up for a positive result in Saturday’s Renfrewshire derby.

The right-back cancelled out Danny Mullen’s early opener with a bullet header before Lewis Morgan fired the Saints to the three points, and Doyle was left gutted his goal counted for nothing on the day.

He also discusses the performance, conceding disappointing goals, says St Mirren title party be motiviation for the Ton for next term, praises the travelling fans for their backing, and looks ahead to the final game of the season.
