Derek Anderson looks ahead to the CAS Cup Final
Tomorrow afternoon Greenock Morton Under 17s will face St Johnstone in the CAS Cup Final as they look to end the season with another trophy.
The side were crowned league champions back in December and will be looking to go on and clinch the league and cup double.
With a run of 11 games unbeaten helping the boys to this point, they will be looking to end the season on a high note by lifting the CAS Cup.
Ahead of tomorrow’s match, Head of Youth Academy, Derek Anderson, said:
“It would be a great achievement for the boys, but we know how difficult the game will be. It’s another match against a Premiership academy and St Johnstone have been coming on leaps and bounds in the past few seasons.”
“This season has been a great experience for the U17s, winning the league and this current cup run coming up against tough opposition has helped the players grow. It’s great for the whole club as well to have a youth team that can compete against Premiership academies and get big results.”
“It was really good to see fans coming along to the semi-final last week against Dundee and to have that again for the final would be great and it will help give the boys a boost.”
“The main focus is obviously to win the cup which would be a fitting end to the season and really top off a great run in this tournament as well.”
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 2.30pm with the match taking place at Ochilview Park in Stenhousemuir. It would be great to see fans coming along to back the youth!
