Club Statement – Live TV Game Schedule
The Club would like to express their concerns on the rescheduling of games to suit TV purposes.
Our game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, scheduled for Saturday 31 August, has now been re-scheduled to Friday 30 August with a 7.05 Kick off.
Whilst we respect the contractual obligations and the great work the SPFL do in securing TV deals, we feel that currently TV game rescheduling doesn’t take into consideration the logistical problems our fans face in making a non-Saturday, 8 hour and 400 mile round trip to Inverness.
These decisions appear to show little understanding or cognisance of the logistical issues facing travelling fans.
As you are aware we also have another non Saturday trip to make to Inverness on Tuesday 3 March. Whilst it will result in the same travel problems, we acknowledge the difficulties of ensuring midweek fixtures are local, particularly when there are two Dundee clubs in the league.
These TV fixture changes are made without consultations with the club, but on behalf of our fans we are making every effort to ensure our concerns are heard by the relevant decision makers, and have this morning written to the SPFL asking for a 360 review of the logistical implications of fixture changes before games are moved.
Thank you for your support.

Greenock Morton Football Club.
