BREAKING | Billy King signs for Morton
Greenock Morton are delighted to announce the signing of Billy King on a short term deal until January 2020, subject to international clearance.
The 25-year-old came through the ranks at Hearts before making a temporary switch to Rangers in January 2016 on loan.
Following his loan stint at Rangers, King then signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan and spent the 2016/17 season at the club, playing on numerous occasions for Caley Thistle.
The winger departed Hearts and signed for Dundee United in 2017 and after a year playing with the first team, went on loan to Gillingham in the second half of last season where he played 3 times for the League One outfit.
After leaving Dundee United in the summer, David Hopkin made a move for the former Scotland U21 internationalist who put pen to paper at Cappielow this afternoon.
Speaking to gmfc.net, the Ton boss showed his delight at bringing Billy to Cappielow: “Billy has had a full pre-season and had been offered a contract at Falkirk with whom he’d been training with.
“He wished to play at a higher level though and I’m delighted to add him to the squad as he’s a player who I have admired for some time.
“I’d like to thank the board and Morton Club Together for funding this latest signing and I am sure the supporters will see the quality that Billy will bring to the team”.
