Scene Setter

The Ton are back on the hallowed turf of Cappielow on Saturday as they face Dundee after two away games in a row in the Ladbrokes Championship.

The game follows Morton’s 1-0 defeat away at Queen of the South which saw a fantastic performance from Robby McCrorie deny the Ton of their hunt for a goal.

James McPake’s Dundee side won 2-1 against Alloa Athletic the previous week and will be hoping to continue their winning run against Morton at Cappielow.

Current Connections

Dunoon native Declan McDaid came through the youth ranks at Cappielow and made one first-team appearance before electing to move to Partick Thistle in the summer of 2013.

Paul McGowan came to the Ton on loan from Celtic in the 2006/07 season when Morton were victorious and became Second Division winners. McGowan was named player of the month for January in this season and was also chosen for the team of the year for the league.

Last Time Round

A Dougie Imrie penalty on the 78th minute saw Dundee’s hopes of winning the Championship being dented after a 1-0 defeat to Morton.

This Morton result had no impact on their position in the league as they remained dead bottom of the league and achieved merely their sixth victory of the season in this match.
