Sean Crighton to leave his post
Greenock Morton would like to announce that Sean Crighton will be leaving his role as the head of the Morton youth academy pathway to take up a position with the Airdrie first team.
A former Morton player who was a part of the League One title winning team in season 2014-15, Sean has been a coach with the youth academy since its inception. He took the very first Under-15s side, and then spent seasons with the Under-17s and Under-14s.
From the summer of 2016, the committed defender combined playing duties at Livingston with a role coaching our Under-15s. The Greenock-native also sees regular involvement with the Greenock Morton Community Trust as well as working with the SFA in their School of Football Programme at Renfrew High School and the performance centre at Holyrood High School.
Director of Youth Derek Anderson was full of praise for Sean as he said: “Sean has been an integral part of the youth academy right from the very first day he arrived at the club.
“He is a great worker with a real passion for football and I’m sure he will be sorely missed by everyone at Morton.”
Everyone at Morton Football Club would like to wish Sean all the best for the future and thank him for all the hard work he has done.
