Denny Johnstone, Robert Thomson, Bob McHugh and Kerr Waddell all remain sidelined.

Defender Kerr Waddell, who has been injured for a few weeks now, is back at Dundee waiting to get an operation for a hernia and will miss the remainder of the season

Striker Bob McHugh is still recovering from a fracture he sustained back in February and will continue his rehab to hopefully return to the squad over the next few weeks.

Fellow front man Robert Thomson has been ruled out for the rest of the season as the striker has had trouble with a recurring problem and looks set for surgey in the coming weeks to get it sorted.

Long term absentee Denny Johnstone has been involved in light training sessions but looks doubtful in playing any involvement in the remaining games.

On the other hand, Michael Tidser has returned to full training after a short period out and could feature in tonight’s game.

Rory McKeown featured for the reserve squad against Hamilton yesterday and made the bench last week against Alloa and will be available for selection if needed.

Last Time Round

Carl Tremarco’s early first half goal secured all three points for Inverness Caley Thistle back in February this year. It was another disappointing afternoon on the road for the Ton, and the narrow defeat saw Dunfermline leapfrog them into sixth place in the table.

The home side produced the first major chance of the game. A neat passing move played McDonald into the box, but the ball was diverted behind. From the resultant corner, Inverness skipper Carl Tremarco rose highest at the near post to open the scoring, glancing the ball home after 11 minutes.

After the break, Morton came out the traps the more eager of the two sides, however, it was Inverness who looked more like scoring. Sean Welsh displayed some fine play down the right in the 57th minute, before sending an inviting cross deep into the six-yard-box.

Tremarco rose highest at the far post, directing a downward header across goal with only Gregor Buchanan’s last-ditch clearance from under his own crossbar preventing the Caley Jags’ skipper’s second of the afternoon.

Both sides pushed to create chances in the final period with Welsh’s fine driving run releasing McCauley on the right in the 90th minute, but the winger’s low driven shot crept across goal and behind, much to the Ton’s relief.

Inverness held on in the closing moments, despite Morton throwing numerous long balls into the box, to see out the match and take all three points.
