Waddell: I was away to the fans celebrating

Defender Kerr Waddell was so certain he had scored on Saturday that he had already started planning to head towards the away supporters in celebration – only to be denied his moment of glory by a goalline clearance.

The Dundee loanee was delighted to make his first league start for the club in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and almost marked the occasion by netting with a header early in the second half.

Although he was gutted not to net what could have turned out to be a winner, Waddell was still more than content with the result as he felt it was crucial that the team avoided a second consecutive defeat.
