Iredale, McGowan, Anderson head out on loan

Defender Jack Iredale, goalkeeper Jamie McGowan, and midfielder David Anderson have all completed deadline-day development loan deals.

Aussie centre-half Iredale has signed with Queen’s Park, shot-stopper McGowan has moved to Troon, while Anderson has joined Johnstone Burgh, with the temporary transfers running until January 2018.

The trio bring the number of players out on loan up to six following the departures of Lewis Strapp (Elgin City), Ben Eardley (Greenock Juniors), and Scott Miller (Clydebank).

Manager Jim Duffy told gmfc.net: “I think it’s really important for young players to go out on loan because they get first-team football, experience, and an idea of the demands, both physical and mental.

“The responsibility of playing and winning matches is the most important thing. I think it’s an invaluable experience and we’ll possibly look to do that with a few more boys.”
