17s stars score first Development League goals
Under-17s starlets Jonathan Lyon and Shaun Rodgers came off the bench to score their first Development League West goals and fire the Under-20s to a 2-1 win away at Airdrie earlier this week.
Director of youth Derek Anderson’s side found themselves trailing to the Diamonds with just 10 minutes left to play at the Excelsior Stadium on Monday night.
The former Ton player sent on academy prospects Lyon and Rodgers in the closing stages, and the pair found the net to earn the Greenock outfit their fourth consecutive victory.

Midfielder Lyon levelled things up on 80 minutes when he headed home a cross from the right before diminutive forward Rodgers smashed a first-time effort past the Airdrie keeper two minutes later.
The duo followed the example set by 17s team-mates Kieran Brophy and Gavin Watt after they both got their names on the scoresheet in a 5-1 triumph over Clyde.
