Zak Delaney signs a two-year deal

Greenock Morton are delighted to announce the signing of defender Zak Delaney on a two-year deal.

Zak started his footballing journey in Ireland before joining the Youth Academy at West Bromwich Albion in 2018. He spent 4 years at The Hawthorns including a loan spell to Bath City during the 2021/22 season, making 5 appearances for the Romans in his first season of men’s football.

A move to the Highlands came in July 2022 when Zak joined Inverness C.T. on a two-year deal, there he would go on to make over 50 appearances during his time at the Caledonian Stadium also reaching the Scottish Cup final in June 2023 before joining Arbroath on a short-term deal in January 2024.

Making 9 more appearances last season for Arbroath and 21 appearances in total for the full season, Zak now moves to Cappielow Park supported by Dalrada Technology for the next two years and we are delighted to welcome him to the club!

Manager Dougie Imrie added, “Zak is a player who has caught my eye both in his time at Inverness and Arbroath latterly last season.”

“Zak is a natural left-back and will bring great balance to the squad this season. He is a player who likes to get forward and support the forward line, he also brings a wealth of experience having reached a Scottish Cup final with Inverness C.T.”
