U-20s to play Dunoon Ams in memorial match

Our Under-20s will play Dunoon Amateurs at the Dunoon Stadium on Sunday 23 July in a charity match to be staged in memory of teenager Asten Jones.

Asten,18, tragically died in a car accident in Kilmun in May, and kitman Andy Bryan, who is a friend of the family, has organised a fundraising game in her honour.

Andy said: “I’ve been a friend of Asten’s family for a number of years and just wanted to do something to try and help at such a difficult time for them all.

“I approached the manager to ask if we could take a team over to play in a memorial match to raise funds. He was fantastic and immediately agreed.

“I’d like to thank him and the club for their backing as well as our Under-20s coach Darren Barr, and I hope as many fans as possible can make it over to the game and help support such a worthwhile cause.”

The match, which has been kindly sponsored by Straps of Gourock, kicks off at 2pm and admission prices have been set at £4 for adults and £2 for Under-14s.
