Top Cat: Cappie finishes first in Ladbrokes SPFL mascot race

Morton mascot Cappie the Cat outstripped the likes of the Paisley Panda, Hoopy the Huddle Hound, and Broxi Bear to take gold in the annual Ladbrokes SPFL mascot race at Hamilton Park last night.

The fleet-footed feline showed the rest of the field a clean pair of paws to storm to victory ahead of Queen of the South’s Dougie the Doonhamer in second.

Roared on by backroom staff Andy Bryan, Alyson Fielding, Antonia Kerr and Mark Farrell, Cappie justified his status as pre-race favourite and lapped up the adulation of an appreciative crowd afterwards.
