Ton travel to win but won’t underestimate Wasps

Manager Ray McKinnon says his side travel through to Alloa Athletic looking to claim maximum points but insists he won’t be underestimating the Wasps.

The Ton boss reckons the fact Jim Goodwin’s side pushed strongly-fancied Ross County all the way at Global Energy Stadium, only losing out to an 88th-minute goal, shows they will be no pushovers in this season’s Championship.

McKinnon also discusses reviewing the Queen of the South game, the Indodrill Stadium pitch and how it might affect his approach, and the fact he does not believe Alloa’s part-time status will have any significance.

He also gives an injury update and reveals striker Robert Thomson got a 45-minute runout in a bounce game on Monday and that Denny Johnstone is nearing a return to full training.
