Telfer: Jags win was great way to end 2018

Matchwinner Charlie Telfer says Saturday’s 2-1 win over Partick Thistle at Firhill was a brilliant way to end the year and believes the victory can set Morton up for a prosperous 2019.

Telfer fired Jonatan Johansson’s side to three points in Maryhill, scoring a superbly-taken goal with 10 minutes left to play after Jags midfielder Craig Slater had cancelled out Scott Tiffoney’s early opener.

The 23-year-old admitted it was important to end the Ton’s run of six Ladbrokes Championship fixtures without success and feels Saturday’s result can set them up for the second half of the season and a play-off push.
