Telfer: I couldn’t turn down Ton opportunity

New Morton midfielder Charlie Telfer says he had no intention of returning home from Holland but felt the opportunity to link up with Ray McKinnon at Cappielow was one he just couldn’t turn down.

The 22-year-old spent a season in the Netherlands with Eerste Divisie club Almere City but decided his future lay in Scotland after his former Dundee United boss offered him a deal with the Ton.
