Sonny Hart joins the Ton on loan

Greenock Morton are pleased to announce the signing of Sonny Hart on a season-long loan from Swindon Town.

The 18-year-old centre-back arrived at the Robins from Southend United in 2021, joining their youth ranks and has since gained first-team experience on loan at Harrow Borough, Gloucester City, Canvey Island and most recently, National League South side Farnborough Town.

Sonny signed his first professional contract with Swindon in July 2024, having been a vital part of the Swindon U18s defence as they reached the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup.

The defender has already had his first taste of Scottish football this pre-season, having played the second half of our friendly against Annan Athletic, keeping a clean sheet.

Commenting on his latest signing, Manager Dougie Imrie said, “I am pleased to be bringing Sonny to Cappielow, he is a strong, promising young defender who brings more competition to the backline following the arrival of Kris Moore last week.
