Scotland call up for Morton kitman Andy Bryan
Morton’s Andy Bryan has told of his pride after being called up to represent Scotland as the official kit manager on the Under-19s’ upcoming trip to Greece.
Scot Gemmill’s tartan teenagers fly out to Athens to play their Greek counterparts in a challenge match double-header and Andy has been named in the travelling party as a member of the Scottish FA delegation.
The 51-year-old Cappielow stalwart (pictured, in his official SFA issue suit) recently received the call and jets out today before returning on Tuesday 6 September after fulfilling his duties with the national youth team.
Andy told gmfc.net: “It’s a real honour to be going away with Scotland as official kitman for the Under-19s squad. The only thing is I hate to miss a Morton match – this is only the ninth in 40 years – and I’ll not be there for the trip to Hampden on Saturday.
“But there’s no choice to be made when you get the call from your country and I’m thrilled to be involved. I’d really like to thank the chairman, Crawford [Rae] and Jim Duffy for being so supportive and allowing me to go.”
