Ryan Scully leaves Morton by mutual consent
Greenock Morton can confirm that goalkeeper Ryan Scully has today left the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Former Partick Thistle shot-stopper Scully signed for the Ton last summer and went on to make 14 starts and one substitute appearance this season, registering four clean sheets.
Manager Jonatan Johansson told media officer Jonathan Mitchell: “I was comfortable with my goalkeeping options, but Ryan Scully recently came to me and requested to leave to play first-team football.
“We want players here who want to be at Morton Football Club so decided it would be best for all parties to allow Ryan to move on. I thank him for his contribution in my time as manager and wish him well for the future.
“This obviously leaves us short in that area of the team, but we have a new goalkeeper in place and the signing will be completed prior to this weekend’s game.”
