Ray: We want to go into league season on a high

Manager Ray McKinnon says Saturday’s Betfred Cup fixture against Albion Rovers is very important as he wants his side to make sure they are going into the first game of the Ladbrokes Championship season on a high.

The Ton will not progress beyond the group stages, but the Ton boss is keen for them to record a positive result against the League Two outfit prior to hosting Queen of the South on the opening day of the league season.

Greenock gaffer McKinnon boss also reveals the extent of his injury problems, discusses the cancellation of the Cardiff City friendly, today’s signing of Connor Bell, and how his side might shape up against Albion.
