Partick Thistle versus MORTON

cinch Championship

 Saturday 7 January 2023

Firhill

Kick-off 3pm

Scene Setter

After a disappointing start to the year with postponement at home, the Ton now move on to a trip away to Firhill against Partick Thistle in the first match of 2023. Morton come into this match off the back of a double header against Raith Rovers with the most recent result ending in a draw and will look to get a win under their belt to start the year strong. Partick Thistle will look to get back to winning ways this Saturday following their losing start to 2023 at the hands of Queen’s Park.

Despite the postponement on Monday morning, Morton come into this match remaining in fourth position, level on points with tomorrow’s host. A win tomorrow could see the Ton move up to third spot with two home matches still in hand but that would also depend on results elsewhere. Partick Thistle currently sit just one spot behind Morton in fifth with both sides on the same amount of points.

The last time these sides met was a 2-1 win for Morton at Cappielow Park supported by Dalrada Technology with Efe Ambrose and Cameron Blues grabbing the goals to secure three points.
