New Family Section Introduced at Cappielow

As the club aims to become more inclusive and engaging within our local community we are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Family Section at Cappielow Park supported Dalrada Technology.

From season 2025/26, the Wee Harry Bonar Section (Section A of the Main Stand) will now be titled, ‘the Wee Harry Bonar family section’, covering section A of the main stand.

The family section will be an area in the stadium for families and young children in addition to those who require matchday support.

As everybody is aware, Morton in the Community’s highly popular, Cappie’s Corner is situated in Section A, and we hope that this newly titled area will provide an inviting and welcoming environment for young families in the local area who want to enjoy games here at the stadium.

This dedicated area is also announced in partnership with Morton in the Community, who for season 2025/26, will also be able to provide sensory packs on matchdays for those requiring support. Packs will be available by contacting Morton in the Community and will enhance the matchday experience for those requiring the support a sensory pack can provide.

On the announcement, General Manager, Dale Pryde-MacDonald said, “It is a great step forward for the club to have a dedicated family area in the stadium and to be working collaboratively with Morton in the Community on this.”

“This was an idea initially brought up at one of our EDI working group meetings and we see this as a real positive move for everybody involved. The addition of sensory packs and supporting those with specific needs is at the front and centre of our agenda and we are proud to be taking this forward from season 2025/26.”

Morton in the Community CEO, Brian McLaughlin added, “This is a really positive step and combined effort from club and community. We are seeing more and more the different needs in our community and the fact we can support this is really encouraging for everybody.”

“Cappie’s Corner has been a terrific success, and we want to work with the club in continuing to remove barriers for people attending matches at Cappielow. Having a family section and introducing sensory packs will certainly allow us to support our community and hopefully encourage more attendance in the new family area of the Main Stand.”
