Morton v Swansea City Friendly

We at Morton are delighted to be able to confirm details of an upcoming friendly fixture against Swansea City’s Select 11 side.

Swans striker Alex Samuel enjoyed a successful loan spell with us last season, and through that initial contact our clubs have developed closer links off the field.

As part of this relationship we have arranged a challenge match to be hosted here at Cappielow on Tuesday 26 July, with a 19.30pm kick-off.

Gary Richards and Cameron Toshack’s development squad finished third in English Premier League Division Two and are sure to provide a tough test for manager Jim Duffy’s side.

The Welshmen have scheduled a mini pre-season tour of Scotland over a five-day period in which they will also play Falkirk and Hamilton Academical.

Greenock will be the first stop on their trip, and we have been advised by Liberty Stadium officials that they expect in the region of 500 to 600 supporters to follow them north.

With that in mind, Swansea fans will be housed in Section F & G of the Main Stand and we will also open the the Cowshed to our own supporters in addition to the main stand.
