Morton U-20s host Ayr United in title showdown

Our Under-20s will host Ayr United at Cappielow in a Development League West title decider tomorrow night after previous league leaders Stranraer were docked three points at an SPFL disciplinary hearing.

The Blues fielded a trialist in a 2-1 win over East Kilbride without submitting the necessary paperwork and the result was yesterday overturned and recorded as a 3-0 defeat.

That outcome sees Stranraer slip down to second behind Airdirie, both of whom have played all of their fixtures, and opens up the title race to both the Ton and opponents Ayr.

Either side can take the championship with a victory when they meet in a crucial clash in Greenock tomorrow, while a draw will see the Diamonds hold on to top spot.

Supporters are encouraged to get along to Cappielow and give Derek Anderson’s side their backing as they attempt to claim the three points that would see them crowded champions. Kick-off is 7.30pm and entry is free.
