Morton learn Betfred Cup group opponents

We have tonight learned that we will face Partick Thistle, Albion Rovers, Ayr United, and Stenhousemuir in Group E of next season’s Betfred League Cup.

The draw for the first round of the competition was conducted live on BT Sport 2 this evening by pundits Chris Sutton and Alan Stubbs.

And the Ton, who were second-level seeds, followed recently relegated Partick Thistle out of the hat and will also face fellow Championship outfit Ayr, League One Stenny and League Two Albion Rovers.

Clubs play each other once, either home or away, with finalised fixture dates, venues, and television selections to be confirmed next week.
