Morton host Dundee Utd in Betfred Cup quarter-final

Morton were handed a home tie against fellow Championship club Dundee United in tonight’s Betfred Cup quarter-final draw, setting up a double header with Ray McKinnon’s men.

The Ton earned their place in the hat with an impressive 2-1 win over Premiership Hamilton Accies yesterday and will now play a side from the same division for the first time in this term’s competition.

Jim Duffy’s team were already scheduled to travel to Tannadice on Saturday 24 September on league duty and will now make the journey on the back of a final eight clash at Cappielow, with the ties to be played on the midweek of Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 September.
