Morton handed Hampden trip in Irn-Bru Cup
Morton will begin their Irn-Bru Challenge Cup campaign with a trip to the national stadium after being handed an away tie against Queen’s Park in today’s third round draw,
Jim Duffy’s men were placed in Pot C of the South section and paired with a club in Pot D, which included Stranraer, Airdrie, Albion Rovers, Stenhousemuir, Celtic Colts and the Spiders, as part of the regionalisation and seeding process.
The draw, staged at The Kelpies in Falkirk and screened on live video streaming app Periscope, saw the Ton pulled out of the hat opposite the League One side, who earned their spot by beating Partick Thistle Under-20s in the second round.
Matches are scheduled to be played on the weekend of Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September and the full draw was follows:
