Greenock Morton Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Ray McKinnon as our new first-team manager.
The former Brechin City, Raith Rovers, and Dundee United boss has today signed a deal at Cappielow and takes charge with immediate effect.
After carefully considering a number of impressive applicants, McKinnon, 47, emerged as the outstanding candidate for the post following an extensive and comprehensive interview process.
In terms of our set criteria to pinpoint a manager whose qualities and ambitions matched our vision for the football club, McKinnon ticked every box.
Chairman Crawford Rae said: “I cannot tell you how delighted we are that Ray has agreed to join us, he was an absolute standout through the interview stages. Ray has had a number of offers and we are delighted that he has belief in us as it is very clear that he shares the same burning desire of returning Greenock Morton to the Premier League, the same passion that runs through everyone at the Club.”
