Mark Kelly announced as General Manager
Greenock Morton are delighted to announce that Mark Kelly has been appointed as the club’s new General Manager.
Mark is a lifelong Morton fan and has been with the club since 2020 in a number of different roles, first starting in a volunteer role as part of the TonTV Livestreams before taking the step into the role of Commercial Executive in March 2022.
During his time at the club, Mark has become a valued member of the club’s wider operations and now makes the step up to the position of General Manager, initially on an interim basis for a six-month period.
Mark’s dedication, professionalism, and deep understanding of the club will play a crucial role as he now oversees the day-to-day operational management of the club to continue helping drive Greenock Morton forward.
Everyone at Cappielow would like to congratulate Mark on his appointment, and we look forward to his continued impact on the club through his new role.
Speaking on the appointment, Mark said, “Growing up a Morton fan and also being a member of Morton Club Together since its creation, it is a real honour and privilege to take on the role of General Manager at a club that means so much to me. My journey with Morton began as a volunteer during a very challenging time for the club, and to now step into this position is something I am incredibly proud of.”
“I am grateful to everyone at the club who has supported me along the way, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with the staff, players, supporters, and our partners as we build on the positive progress that has been made in recent years.”
“Greenock Morton is a special club with a passionate fanbase, and I am excited about what we can achieve together moving forward.”
Speaking on the appointment, Club Director David Whitton said, “During the interview process, Mark came across very well and impressed all of us on the interview panel. As a Board, we are very committed to encouraging internal progression and personal development and felt this was a great opportunity to do exactly that with Mark.
“Mark has been involved in the club as a volunteer and staff member for around six years now, and his commitment and passion for the club is clear for everyone to see. We wish him all the best in the role and look forward to supporting him to be successful.”
