Jim Duffy shortlisted for Manager of the Year award
Morton gaffer Jim Duffy has today been announced as one of four nominees for the 2016/17 PFA Scotland Manager of the Year award.
The 58-year-old has guided his team to a fourth-place finish in this season’s Ladbrokes Championship, thereby booking a place in the end-of-season promotion play-offs, and their first national semi-final at Hampden since 1979.
Those achievements have been recognised by his fellow professionals, seeing him shortlisted alongside three Premiership bosses in Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers, former Ton midfielder Derek McInnes of Aberdeen, and Partick Thistle’s Alan Archibald.
Duffy is the second Ton man to be nominated for a prestigious end-of-season gong following midfielder Ross Forbes’ nomination for the Championship Player of the Year prize.
Both Jim and Ross will discover if they have won their respective awards on Sunday 7 May at PFA Scotland’s annual awards dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
