Goalkeeper Ross Doohan returns to Celtic
Goalkeeper Ross Doohan will today return to parent club Celtic on the expiry of his development loan, manager Jim Duffy has confirmed.
Scotland Under-21 shot-stopper Doohan arrived at Cappielow back in August, but was unable to dislodge Derek Gaston and did not make an appearance in his time on Sinclair Street.
The 19-year-old now goes back to Parkhead, and Ton boss Duffy will now look to bring in another keeper with Jamie McGowan sidelined with a dislocated shoulder.
He told gmfc.net: “Ross will go back to Celtic. Celtic are keen to have him back, so St Mirren was his last game involved with us and goes with our best wishes for the future.
“The goalkeeper position has been something we’ve been looking at for a number of weeks now since Jamie got injured. So far we haven’t found anyone suitable and will keep looking.”
Meanwhile, McGowan (Troon), Jack Iredale (Queen’s Park), Lewis Strapp (Elgin City), Ben Eardley (Greenock Juniors), Scott Miller (Clydebank), and David Anderson (Johnstone Burgh) have all returned to the club.
