Gavin Watt scores for Scotland Schoolboys

Under-17s defender Gavin Watt last night started and scored for Scotland Schoolboys in their Centenary Shield fixture against Wales at Palmerston Park.

The centre-half, who has made seven starts for the Morton Under-20s this term, equalised after seven minutes in Dumfries before the young Scots unfortunately lost the match 3-2.

Watt, a 16-year-old Inverclyde Academy pupil, won three caps over the course of tournament, starting against the Welsh as well as coming off the bench in a 2-0 win over England and a 3-1 loss to the Republic of Ireland.
