Dougie Imrie named Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month for December 2024
Dougie Imrie has today been named Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month for December 2024!
In an unbeaten end to the year, Dougie guided his side to 2 wins and 3 draws, keeping a clean sheet in 3 matches.
The month started with a strong draw at home to Livingston before making the trip to Airdrie where the Ton went ahead twice but had to settle for a point on the road. Following two draws to start the month, an important win against Dunfermline was next as goals from Morgan Boyes and Cameron Blues secured a 2-0 victory at Cappielow.
The side returned to action following Christmas with a trip to Somerset Park, picking up a point on the road whilst keeping a clean sheet in the process.
Looking to end the year on a high, the Ton welcomed Partick Thistle to Cappielow on Hogmanay. Following a strong first-half performance, Morton struck first through Filip Stuparevic shortly after the break as he netted his fifth goal for the club since joining on loan. Partick Thistle responded quickly but as the game reached stoppage time, Cameron Blues popped up with his third goal of the month to secure a late winner.
Today’s announcement means that it’s Dougie’s third Manager of the Month award of 2024 and his eighth since joining the club in December 2021!
This award makes it a double award month for the club with Cameron Blues being announced as Player of the Month for December 2024 earlier today.
On winning the award, Dougie Imrie commented: “Receiving this award is a great honour and goes to show the hard work that the players and my staff have been putting in, these awards are always reflective of a team effort from everyone.”
“With a large turnover of players in the Summer, it was always going to take time for the squad to gel and I feel this award and our current run shows that things are really starting to come together and I hope we can carry that on with the opening games of 2025.”
