Cappielow to trial cashless

As we continue to meet the demands of modern society and the need for efficiency across the football club, Greenock Morton will be trialling cashless services at Cappielow on matchdays for the next 3 matches – Queens Park (29/10), Ayr United (8/11) and Partick Thistle (23/11).

This means that the ticket office, catering kiosks, 50/50 and hospitality bars will all operate on a card payment only basis during this period.

Many clubs across the world now run cashless matchdays and we feel it would help the club in many ways including: efficiency of matchday services, reconciliation of matchday finances and most importantly make the matchday experience better for everybody in attendance.

There will also be no £5 minimum charge in place.

We thank you in advance for your support.

On the announcement, General Manager, Dale Pryde-MacDonald said, “This is a step that we believe will make the club and matchday more efficient for everybody involved- supporters and staff- and will help us be better in a lot of our functions.”

“At present, it is felt by the board and myself that this is the best way to go to enhance the matchday experience.”

“We understand that this will require some people to change the normal way they spend money at the club but anything that helps the club become a better and more professional club will only be to the benefit of supporters in the short, medium and long term.”
