Cappielow to host Scottish Schoolboys match
Cappielow Park supported by Dalrada Technology will play host to Scotland Schoolboys as they face off with England Schoolboys on Friday 28th February 2025.
The match, which will kick off at 1.00pm, will see the Scotland Schoolboys return to Cappielow for the second time in the space of a year, as they look to beat our cross-border rivals at the Home of Football in Inverclyde.
Last March, the Scotland Schoolboys narrowly lost out to Wales at Cappielow in front of a buoyant home crowd and this year we hope to increase the attendance and noise to support the boys in this 2025 Centenary Sheild match.
It will also be a fitting moment for Greenock Morton FC with 3 of our current Under 18 apprentices featuring for the side. Striker Cameron Keay, defender Fraser Rodger and midfielder Niall Graham will all be part of the Scotland team that will take to the field at the end of this month.
“It’s an honour for us to host another Scotland Schoolboys fixture at Cappielow, especially with it being Scotland v England.” General Manager, Dale Pryde-MacDonald said.
He added: “It is a fantastic opportunity for people to come along and support the Schoolboys, more so with 3 of our own players being included in the squad it adds a real emotional tie to it. Last year when we hosted the Scotland v Wales game there was a terrific atmosphere, and we would love to have that again this year.”
Gillian Duffy, President of the Scottish Schools FA also commented, “Once again, I have to thank everyone at Greenock Morton for supporting the Scottish Schools’ FA by hosting this game. Last year there was an amazing atmosphere amongst the supporters and this year I am sure it will be replicated. There is always something special about the Scottish Schools’ v English Schools game and I am honoured to be able to bring it to my hometown as President.”
