Cappielow to host Celtic versus Barcelona today
Cappielow will play host to Celtic today as they welcome Barcelona’s Under-19s to Scotland for their third and final home fixture in Group C of their UEFA Youth League campaign.
Tommy McIntyre’s squad lost 4-0 to Manchester City and drew 1-1 with Borussia Monchengladbach here in Greenock, while they also hosted the Catalan club on 1 October 2013.
Barca ran out 2-1 winners, a match in which future Morton loan players Stuart Findlay, Jamie Lindsay, Paul McMullan and Denny Johnstone all participated.
Johnstone, who netted 17 goals for the Ton last year, scored for Celtic, while Paraguay international Antonia Sanabria – since transferred twice for over €12million between moves to Roma and current club Real Betis – bagged a brace.
Kick-off in today’s meeting is 2pm and admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children under-16.
